Group Music for Young Musicians

Ages 4-7

Group Music for young musicians is an excellent way to introduce your child to the wonders of music.

This class doesn't just focus on the piano but, uses a general approach to teach basic music concepts through whole body movement activities and games. It is well known that this age group learns the best through multi-sensory activities and we aim to weave this knowledge into all that we do.

Here are some examples of what your child will learn in this program. It is our goal to set them up with a well-rounded introductory knowledge of music that will adequately prepare them to learn any instrument of their choice.

-Learn to read and execute steady beat and rhythms
-Have the tools to decipher music and read the notes
-Ability to accurately find specific piano keys.
-Introduction to music from all across the world.
-Once a month instrument exploration where we explore a different instrument or family of instruments such as brass, wind, and stringed instruments.
-Introduction to singing through ear training
-Play 3+ simple songs on piano by end of year.
-Foster a deep appreciate for music while keeping the lessons light, fun and engaging.

The class is for ages 4-7. Ages 4-5 must take this course before moving on to private lessons. While we recommend at least a year of group music for ages 6-7 this age group also has the option to opt for fully private lessons. Students are eligible for semi-private piano and partner voice lessons at age 8.
